Book Design

About the Project:

This social sustainability report was created in Adobe InDesign for Channel Islands Outfitters, a certified B-Corporation based out of California. Their mission is “to save the oceans and natural places by fostering an understanding through education, adventures, and outdoor experiences.”

After much research, experimentation, and discussion with the client, we developed a strong concept. Although CIO is a company that does much group activity and exploration, we wanted to steer away from a design concept of a fun, travel brochure and focus on the company’s true love and safety of the ocean. Therefore I created a clean layout with stylistic hints of the company's fun sense of community.

About the Organization:

Channel Islands Outfitters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to restore habitat on the Channel Islands and adjacent mainland through invasive plant management, native plant propagation, and native plant installation. Based in Santa Barbara, California, CIO promotes environmental education on the Central Coast through lectures, service trips, and habitat restoration volunteer opportunities. CIO conducts research and monitoring to identify further habitat restoration efforts.
