Package Design

About the Project:

The assignment of this project was to purchase a product at the Dollar Store and re-design its packaging. The goal was to challenge design ethics and consumerism by elevating the price of a cheap item through packaging.

I purchased a nailcare set that was in a clear, plastic pocket. I then began my research. After studying multiple package design templates, I was able to create my own template and cut lines as seen above. I completed this project within InDesign.

My design solution began with choosing the target audience of young females. This led to color choice and an overall design theme of chic, elegant and bold. My final package design proposed simple materials for mass production with a professional design for mass consumption.
